VistA-Office EHR, a high-quality, low-cost electronic health
record (EHR) system for use in small physician offices (1-8
practitioners) has been developed through a collaborative effort of the
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid
Services (CMS) and the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).
Targeted for release on August 1, 2005, VistA-Office EHR
will be available to individual physician practices and the EHR industry.
It will provide an open, standards-based foundation that vendors can use
as a focal point for developing value-added enhancements, such as installation,
training and support.
The Iowa Foundation for Medical Care (IFMC), Daou Systems
Inc. and WorldVistA are providing distribution, development
and vendor support for VistA-Office EHR.
