Where is VistA Deployed?
Healthcare organizations throughout the United States have begun to recognize the benefits of VistA as an electronic health record system. VSA members are providing the implementation services and ongoing support for VistA in a wide variety of healthcare settings in both the public and private sectors. In addition to the hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes of the Veterans Health Administration, VistA is successfully being used in:
- Indian Health Service
- Public health departments
- State Veterans Homes
- Hospital systems in Finland, Germany, Egypt, and other foreign countries
The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services is currently modifying VistA for small medical practices. This system, called VistA Office EHR, will be released in July of 2005.
